Objective: 

  • To improve awareness on HIV related Human Rights among community networks and the parliamentarians, in order to understand protection of HIV related Human Rights.
  • To establish the relationship between community networks and the Parliamentarians and by working together, to enforce law and policy review for protection of HIV related Human Rights.
  • To create the opportunities for community networks for advocacy and to involve the Parliamentarians in the discussions, in order to provide recommendations and inputs on law and policy reforms on protection of HIV related stigma and discrimination.

 

Project briefs: 

This project intended to facilitate to empower the enabling enviroment for HIV key populations with the coordination between Members of Parliament and Community Network Consortium (CNC) consisting 8 community networks working on HIV and AIDS and partner organizations. The project activities include capacity building of community network members on Human Rights related topics, awareness raising on Human Rights for network members at various states and regions, advocacy meeting with MPs, consultation meetings on current laws and operating pilot response mechanism on violations of rights against female sex workers at two project areas (Pathein and Pakkoku).
