About PGK

Background

PYI GYI KHIN (PGK) is a local, woman's non-governmental organization (NGO) which was founded in 1997 to empower vulnerable women and children in Myanmar, regardless of race, religion and ethnicity, through enhancing basic education, health and socio-economic status. The organization has over 15 years experiences in women and child protection issues, community based HIV Prevention and Home Base Care and Treatment, development of community based organizations and self-help groups, advocay in law and policy reform and strengthening local organization network.

PGK have been implementing projects and programs on the commnunity based HIV intervention program, HIV and Human Right in Legal reform project, community based MDR-TB project, Right to information project, enabling legal environment for CSOs program and supporting ART and decentralization program and Health System Strengthering program in all regions and states in Myanmar.

Every citizen, especially women and children must be able to enjoy their rights and lead an adequate life with dignity.

Mission

Pyi Gyi Khin is a non-governmental organization working together with both local and international organizations. Pyi Gyi Khin strives for rights of every citizen especially women and children and provide necessary services through capacity building of the people and necessary advocacy work.
